More room for your writing life
1.2 ·
This release makes InkSpine more personal, more dependable across devices, and easier to use from first draft to finished book.
New
- Choose words that fit your work. Set each project to Fiction, Memoir and life writing, or Non-fiction and research, and InkSpine adjusts its language to suit.
- Set goals that match each book. Add daily and weekly goals per book, follow your weekly progress, and keep scratch-page words visible in their own counter.
- Keep private notes in the manuscript. Add in-text notes with the toolbar or shortcut; they stay out of exports and are easy to review from the chapter panel.
Improved
- A warmer welcome. The refreshed Welcome screen makes it clearer to start a new project, open recent work, or find your way back in.
- A calmer writing toolbar. Formatting controls now tuck into sensible menus as space gets tight, leaving more room for your manuscript.
- More useful history and exports. Front matter, back matter, and scratch pages now have versions and comparison, while export previews and warnings better reflect what your finished book will contain.
Fixed
- Writing history now travels safely. When you use a cloud-synced project on more than one computer, each computer's writing progress is kept and combined instead of being lost to a sync conflict.
- Your book survives an archive restore. Empty books are no longer missing after restoring a Project Archive.
- Cleaner printed pages. Poems, letters, skipped figures, page names, and unsupported characters are handled more accurately when you export.
Now, back to writing...
