More room for your story

1.1 ·

This release makes InkSpine easier to learn, gentler around trial changes, and more dependable when you bring writing in from elsewhere.

New

  • Trial updates that stay out of your way. InkSpine now lets you know when a trial is nearing its end and explains what stays available on Free, without interrupting your writing.
  • Scenes in the sample book. Explore scene rows, word counts, and moving scenes between chapters in the demo book.
  • Guidance for moving from Scrivener. Ask for help in the app to find a clear route for bringing a compiled manuscript into InkSpine.

Improved

  • Clearer parts and acts. The project tree now calls this option “Add part or act” and makes it easier to discover grouping and folding chapters.
  • More ways to bring notes into your world. After importing a manuscript, from search, or through Help, you can open the existing document-import tool for characters, places, and lore.
  • Smoother punctuation as you type. Double hyphens now become an em dash in more natural places, while three hyphens on their own line remain a scene break.

Fixed

  • More Word files can be imported. Documents without a style list now import successfully, with a note when InkSpine has had to make a best guess.
  • Read problems are no longer mistaken for empty writing. If InkSpine cannot read a chapter, note, continuity detail, or similar item, it shows an error and lets you try again.
  • Your licence is handled more safely. A temporarily unavailable secure store no longer makes a purchased licence appear to be Free.

Now, back to writing...
